WUD Distinguished Lecture Series will host “An Evening with Jamaica Kincaid” on Monday, April 8, 7:30-9 p.m. at Varsity Hall Union South.

Jamaica Kincaid is the Antiguan-American author of 12 books, including the award-winning Annie John, Lucy, and Mr. Potter. She is Professor of African and African American Studies in Residence at Harvard University. For twenty years, she was a staff writer at the New Yorker and her columns have been collected in the volume Talk Stories.

Kincaid will deliver a public lecture as part of the Center for the Humanities’ “Humanities Without Boundaries” speaker series. This event is brought to you by the Wisconsin Union Directorate Distinguished Lecture Series, the Center for Humanities and the Wisconsin Book Festival.

The one-hour lecture is open and free to both students and the public, and will end with a 30-minute Q&A.
