Wisconsin Badgers star sophomore Johnny Davis was named one of the 25 finalists for the Lute Olson National Player of the Year award, Wisconsin men’s basketball announced on Monday.
The Lute Olson National Player of the Year award, which is presented annually to the top player in Division I college basketball, is named in honor of Hall of Fame coach Lute Olson, who won 776 games in 34 seasons, 24 of which were spent at the University of Arizona.

Davis already has been named The Associated Press Player of The Year in the Big Ten Conference and first-team All-Big Ten by both the coaches and media. Earlier this month, Davis was named one of four finalists for the Naismith Player of the Year award.
Davis led the Badgers in scoring and rebounding this year averaging 19.7 points per game and 8.2 rebounds per contest.
