Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes on Wednesday announced that his campaign for US Senate raised more than $1.1 million since it launched in July.

A press release from his campaign claimed it was the “best first-quarter raise by a first-time Senate candidate in Wisconsin history.” An email to supporters said the donations came from 15,216 donors, with an average donation of $49.94.

Campaign finance reports detailing donations and expenditures from July 1 through September 30 are due to be filed with the Federal Elections Commission on Friday and are not yet available on the FEC website.
