Boys and Girls Club of Dane County CEO Michael Johnson is the star of a new national television commercial for Culver’s Frozen Custard set to air in 35 states beginning tomorrow.
Craig Culver, founder of the Prairie du Sac-based restaurant chain, joined a few hundred friends, family, donors and members to surprise Johnson with a video crew in May.
“They rode up on me like I won the lottery or something,” Johnson said at the time. “My wife and my kids and my family were there. I was really surprised that they snuck that one by me.”
Johnson is one of four “everyday heroes” being honored by Culver’s, said Culver’s Marketing Director Emily Patterson. The others are located in Illinois, Indiana and Texas. Each will be featured in their own commercial. Additionally, each is featured on the website custardhero.com.
