The city of Madison has released a map identifying high-risk areas for flooding.
The map identifies areas on the near east side as at a high risk for more flooding in the coming days. The different colors on the map have different meanings:
Dark Blue: Areas that may experience flooding due to rising Lake Monona levels
Purple: Areas that may experience flooding due to rising lake levels and/or flash flooding from rain
Green Lines: Streets that could experience flash flooding from rain

Flooding in Madison is forcing Dane County lakes management to increase the amount of water coming out of Lake Mendota Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Madison spokeswoman Katie Crawley said the Tenney Dam is letting out the additional water Thursday afternoon, and the locks channel will be opened to release more water later Thursday.

Dane County staff is estimating that the Yahara River through the isthmus will go up another 3 to 6 inches in the next 24 hours. The river went up about 5 inches Wednesday, the city said. A 3-inch rise is expected for Lake Monona over the next 24 hours.
The next storm system to affect southern Wisconsin arrives early Friday morning. An Alert Day is in the forecast Friday for the threat of heavy rain, plus some possible severe weather, especially for southwestern Wisconsin.
