Donald D. Dantzler Jr. has been elected as an at-large member of the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) board of directors, Madison College announced on Wednesday.
The ACCT is a national organization that represents the interests of governing boards of community colleges. Its mission is to enhance the effectiveness of community college trustees and to promote the value of community colleges in the higher education landscape. In Dantzler’s new role, he will collaborate with trustees and education leaders nationwide to promote equitable access, strengthen workforce development, and ensure that community colleges continue to meet the evolving needs of today’s learners.
“I am honored to be elected to the ACCT board of directors,” said Dantzler in a news release. “This role provides an incredible opportunity to collaborate with fellow trustees and leaders from community colleges across the country. Together, we can address the challenges facing our institutions and advocate for the resources necessary to support our students and communities.”
Since joining the Madison College District Board of Trustees in 2022, Dantzler, the current vice chair, has been a passionate advocate for accessible and equitable education, according to a press release from Madison College, and his leadership and vision have been instrumental in shaping policies that enhance student success and community engagement.
“Donald’s election to the ACCT board of directors is a testament to his leadership and dedication to community college education,” said Shiva Bidar, chair of the Madison College District Board of Trustees. “We are proud to have him represent Madison College on a national level, and we look forward to the positive impact he will make in this new role.”
