Forward Madison FC’s Don Smart was named USL League One’s Player of the Week on Tuesday, honoring the Jamaican for his standout performance against South Georgia Tormenta FC.
Against South Georgia, Smart scored a goal and registered two assists in the Flamingos’ 4-0 rout, which stands as the highest-scoring output by a side in the League One season so far.
Smart joined by teammates Paulo Júnior and Josiah Trimmingham on League One’s Team of the Week.
The Brazilian Paulo had one goal, one assist and won 10 of 13 duels while completing 3 of 4 dribbles in a strong all-around display.
Center back Trimmingham made three interceptions, three clearances and completed 42 of 54 passes while helping the Flamingos earn their second clean sheet of the year.
Forward Madison will play its next game on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at second-place Union Omaha.
