Lee Holloway, the first African American chairman of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors, has reportedly died. Holloway was 71.

Holloway represented the 5th District on Milwaukee’s north side and was known to be an outspoken and liberal representative. Hollway was elected in 1992 and served as a county supervisor for 20 years. He held the post of board chairman from 2004 to 2012.

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele published a tweet this morning honoring Holloway.
