The Madison365 12U girls basketball team took to the Kohl Center floor Sunday during halftime of the University of Wisconsin women’s game. They practiced twice a week for two months in the fall and are now preparing for a long and busy spring season that’ll see them appear in 11 tournaments over five months, beginning with the Gatorade Main Event Friday night at the Sports Enhancement Academy in Stoughton.
“I’m excited about the season. Our girls have put in a lot of work over the past year. I’m excited to see the progress,” said head coach Henry Sanders, also CEO of 365 Media. “We have a very long AAU season. We start earlier than most teams, just to get the girls a chance to gel and play together, have more opportunities. Our team is pretty athletic. A lot of our girls are used to being a leading scorers on a team. Once they get more experience playing together they should be able to compete with most teams their age.”
The girls will take on McFarland at 6:15 and Verona at 7 on Friday.
The rest of the schedule will include:
March 1: Friday Night Main Event Finals, SEA, Stoughton
March 16: JAG Spring Break Shootout, Wisconsin Dells
