The most influential African American and Latino leaders from across Wisconsin, as named in Madison365’s Black Power and Sí Se Puede lists over the past three years, will gather at Ho-Chunk Gaming and Convention Center in October for the first-ever Wisconsin Leadership Summit. The general public may also purchase tickets to this historic event.
“As we have brought these influential leaders into the spotlight over the past three years, the one thing that’s really surprised me is how many of them didn’t know each other,” said Madison365 Publisher and CEO Henry Sanders. “We’ve brought some of these influential leaders together for events with the Milwaukee Bucks and Milwaukee Brewers, and it’s always an amazing energy in the room. It became clear really quickly that if we could get all of these leaders in business, government, education and social justice in the same place to really dig into the issues, that would be incredibly powerful. We’re very excited to make it happen, and grateful to the Ho-Chunk Nation for hosting us and being a great partner.”
The conference will feature panel discussions on issues ranging from education to nonprofit leadership to incarceration, as well as a gala dinner, community arts showcase and many networking and professional development opportunities. Former Badger and NFL wide receiver Brandon Williams will serve as host and master of ceremonies.

Honorees from Madison365’s Black Power and Sí Se Puede lists will be invited to attend free of charge. General public registration for the summit will cost $200, which will include all meals. Additional guest tickets for the October 18 dinner and community arts showcase are $75. Ho-Chunk Gaming and Convention Center is also offering discounted hotel rooms starting at $99.
