Grammy-nominated rap artist, entrepreneur and community philanthropist Nipsey Hussle died Sunday after a shooting in Los Angeles near a clothing store he owned.
Two other people were injured in the shooting around 3:20 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Nipsey Hussle’s death was announced on Twitter by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. He was 33.
The rapper’s last message on Twitter read: “Having strong enemies is a blessing.”

Born Ermias Davidson Asghedom, Nipsey Hussle was experiencing the success of his Grammy-nominated debut album, “Victory Lap.” Less than 24 hours before he was gunned down Sunday, the rapper was sitting courtside in Anaheim, California, for the Texas Tech/Gonzaga game.
Nipsey Hussle tributes on social media soon followed the rapper’s death where he is being remembered as an inspiration to his fans and famous friends.
