U.S. Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin

Sen. Tammy Baldwin has won re-election in the Wisconsin Senate race defeating Republican state Sen. Leah Vukmir in the midterm election.

ABC News called the race at 8:03 p.m., right after the polls closed.

It was a historic race in Wisconsin: It was the first time in the state that two women emerged as major party candidates for U.S. Senate. The race attracted national attention and brought President Donald Trump to the state in the final weeks to campaign for Vukmir.
