Come to the Madison Pinney Branch Library, 204 Cottage Grove Rd., through August 30 to see a selection of cover artwork from Madison’s own UMOJA Magazine.
UMOJA Magazine is a monthly journal of positive, encouraging news about African American people and job opportunities in Madison. Original art, primarily by Black artists, appears on each cover to promote creativity.
Artwork has been the flagship of UMOJA magazine for 25 years. Artists working in a variety of genres show a wide range of the Black experience from struggles and sacrifices to family and church life, cultural achievements, and images from the continent of Africa.
