Vander Blue to Make Wisconsin Herd Debut Tonight

The Wisconsin Herd, the NBA G League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, obtained the returning player rights to Madison native Vander Blue from the South Bay Lakers in exchange for the returning player rights to Joel Bolomboy. Blue will make his debut with the team tonight at Grand Rapids.

The 6’5″ Blue appeared in 15 games last season with South Bay and averaged 19.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game. Blue’s averaging 23.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 steals in five G League seasons. The guard earned 2017 NBA G League Most Valuable Player honors.

Blue helped lead Madison Memorial High School to the 2009 WIAA State Championship.

He went on to play three seasons at Marquette, where he was named to the NCAA All-East Region Team and the All-BIG EAST Second Team as a junior in 2013. Blue posted career averages of 9.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game with the Golden Eagles.
