Wisconsin’s two United Soccer League teams will face off in an exhibition match on Wednesday, June 5, the teams announced Monday.
The professional USL League One club Forward Madison will travel to the new Capital Credit Union Park near Green Bay to take on the USL League Two pre-professional team Green Bay Voyageurs at 7:30 pm.
“This match against Forward Madison will give our players an opportunity to play against a professional team and prove that they can hold their own. Ever since we announced that a team was coming to Green Bay, we had our sights set on a match against Forward Madison. We’re ecstatic that we’ll be hosting them this season,” said Voyageurs General Manager Dannon Anderson.
Both teams will be in the early stages of their inaugural seasons, as both begin play in April. Both are owned by Big Top Sports, which also owns the Madison Mallards and Green Bay Boo-Yah baseball teams.
