Wisconsin passes 2,170 coronavirus cases; 24 deaths since Friday

Wisconsin now has 2,171 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 64 deaths, according to state and county data. That makes today the deadliest day since the crisis began, with 24 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours.

Milwaukee County now reports 1,112 cases and 34 deaths. Of the positive cases, at least 511 are Black.

Dane County reports 269 positive cases and eight deaths. Public Health Madison & Dane County reports that it has administered 4,862 tests, with health care workers as the top priority for testing.

Statewide, 588 people have been hospitalized, with 164 requiring intensive care. It is unclear how many are currently hospitalized or in intensive care units. The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation reports that Wisconsin has only 172 ICU beds available.
