

Wisconsin now has 4,682 confirmed cases of coronavirus infection, and 242 people have died, according to state and county data.
That’s an increase of 143 cases from Monday and 12 additional deaths.
Dane County had a sharper increase than usual, with 18 new cases after many days of single-digit increases, from 364 to 382 confirmed cases; a Public Health Madison Dane County representative said some of the cases are “related” but declined to offer more specific information.
Milwaukee County increased by 83 cases to 2,289. County officials confirmed today that at least seven cases are linked to the April 7 election — six voters and one poll worker.
As of Tuesday, 357 people were hospitalized, down from 406 on Monday. Of those, 137 are in intensive care units, down from 168. Three hundred twenty people — 89 percent of those hospitalized — require mechanical ventilation.
