Melissa Sargent, D-Madison

State Representative Melissa Sargent (D-Madison) announced her candidacy for Wisconsin State Senate on Wednesday morning.

“Under the current leadership of the GOP-controlled legislature, Wisconsin continues to fall behind. Residents across Wisconsin are asking for our government leaders to take meaningful action to ensure that Wisconsin is a state where everyone is safe, can reach for their dreams, and where we invest in a better tomorrow,” Sargent said in a statement. “As a mother of four boys, I am proud to fight for Wisconsin families, and am committed to continuing to work to come together to find innovative long-term solutions that better our state. I am confident that my experience and passion will bring a positive impact to the communities of the 16th Senate District, as I continue in this mission.”
