The Black Women’s Leadership Conference scheduled for May needs presenters for Day 3.
“This year I decided to do a call for proposals for breakout sessions on Saturday, May 20, 2017,” says organizer Sabrina Madison. “We want you to listen to Solange’s powerful album A Seat at the Table and use it as your guide for creating and delivering a unique presentation.”
Madison says she wants presentations that build on our three pillars of leadership: Progress, Empowerment & Collaboration.
Sessions will be 75 minutes and may include panel discussions and workshops. Proposals may be submitted as individuals or as pre-formed panels.
Topics of interest could include but are not limited to:
- Entrepreneurship
- Work-life balance
- Money, investment
- Negotiating starting salary, promotions, career planning
- Mentorship
- Black women in media
- Other topics related to wellness, professional development, natural hair/body care.
The proposal form is online here. A proposal must also include a video of no more than seven minutes introducing yourself and the presentation you’re proposing for the conference.
Proposals are due Tuesday, February 28.
