CLIMB USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding financial literacy, investment education, and wealth-building opportunities, is in the stretch run of its “Campaign for Financial Freedom,” a national fundraising initiative to expand financial literacy and asset ownership for youth and families. The two-week effort that kicked off on Juneteenth (June 19) will officially wrap up on Independence Day (July 4).
As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary on July 4, the campaign seeks to address the chasm between the nation’s founding promise of opportunity and the reality of the burgeoning wealth gap. Serving low- and moderate-wealth communities across the nation, CLIMB USA focuses on helping individuals move from being solely consumers to becoming owners – providing the tools to build businesses, invest in stocks, and acquire real estate.

“We are building a future where ownership of businesses, stocks, and real estate is more broadly distributed across all communities,” said Robert Wynn, CEO of CLIMB USA, in a statement. “True economic freedom requires moving beyond consumption to become active owners. By equipping underserved markets with the tools for asset ownership today, we are strengthening the long-term resilience of the American economy.”
Through its investment clubs, youth programs and entrepreneurship training, CLIMB USA provides a practical pathway for individuals to build wealth and financial security, according to its website, and the organization advocates for a model of economic participation that’s accessible to all, regardless of zip code or background.
The “Campaign for Financial Freedom” draws inspiration from historical figures like Frederick Douglass, whose 1852 speech, “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July?,” challenged the nation to ensure its economic ideals of liberty were extended to all people. CLIMB USA views financial capability as a critical step in fulfilling that promise.
“The next 250 years of American prosperity must be defined by broader participation in wealth creation,” said Tori Mansfield, CLIMB’s board chair. “By investing in financial capability today, we ensure that opportunity and economic freedom are not just ideals, but realities for every American.”
Supporters are invited to join the Campaign for Financial Freedom by contributing, becoming a community partner, or helping expand access to financial education and investment opportunities for future generations.
