Donald Dantzler has defeated Patrick Wilson to join the city of Fitchburg Common Council, representing District 3 on the city’s northwest side.

“We worked hard, we ran a solid campaign and we got out in the community and made sure all those voices were heard,” Danztler said. “Now the real work begins. It’s one thing to get in front of voters and say what you would do. Now we have to get to work.”

Dantzler also congratulated Wilson for what he called a “solid campaign.”

Dantzler garnered 62 percent of the 1,322 votes cast.

Dantzler has served on the city’s Police and Fire Commission since 2021, and also chairs the Madison College Board of Trustees. Dantzler replaces Shannon Strassman, who announced last year that she would not seek reelection.
