MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers is marking the start of Pride Month by raising the Pride Flag at the Wisconsin State Capitol for a third straight year and signing two additional executive orders related to LGBTQ+ issues.
Orders 120, 121 and 122 call for the flying of the rainbow Pride flag over the State Capitol during June and authorizing other state buildings in the state to do the same, directing state agencies to use gender-neutral language whenever possible, and preventing the use of state and federal funds for the use of conversion therapy in minors.
The rainbow flag will be one of the flags flying over the east entrance of the Capitol in June and will not interfere with or replace any of the other flags flying at the Capitol.
The United States flag and the Wisconsin state flag will continue flying over the east entrance of the Capitol above the Pride flag. The POW-MIA flag will also continue flying on the north wing flagpole, where it currently flies every day.
The Pride flag first flew over the Capitol in 2019, during the first Pride Month of Evers’ term.
