Gronik Drops Out of Gov Race

Milwaukee businessman Andy Gronik, who was the first Democrat to announce a bid for the governorship of Wisconsin just over a year ago, announced Thursday that he is dropping out of the race.

“The crowded field of ten Democrats just got a little less crowded today,” he wrote in a Facebook post. “I am announcing the end of my campaign for Governor of Wisconsin. This journey has been the greatest of my life.”

A Marquette University Law School poll released yesterday found that Gronik had only four percent support among Democrats, far behind frontrunner Tony Evers’ 25 percent.

Gronik said he would endorse a candidate in the future.

“This is a time for decisive action, so I am strongly encouraging people to coalesce around the Democratic candidate they believe will beat Scott Walker,” he wrote.
