Madison Public Library, City of Madison Engineering, Madison Parks and the Madison Public Library Foundation will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Imagination Center at Reindahl Park on Friday, Sept. 25, from 3 to 4 p.m.
The ceremony will offer community members an opportunity to be among the first to tour the Imagination Center Library and four-season Park Pavilion. The event is part of a larger grand opening weekend celebrating the new facility, which will become Madison Public Library’s 10th branch and serve the city’s northeast side, including the rapidly growing neighborhoods along the East Washington Avenue corridor.
The Madison Public Library Foundation launched a $5 million capital campaign in 2022 to support construction of the Imagination Center. More than 250 individuals, organizations and foundations contributed to the campaign, helping the foundation reach its fundraising goal in summer 2026, ahead of the building’s opening.
Scheduled speakers at Friday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony will include Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, Wisconsin Department of Administration Secretary Kathy Blumenfeld, Madison Public Library Director Tana Elias, and Madison Public Library Foundation Executive Director Conor Moran.
Also scheduled to speak are District 17 Alder Sabrina Madison, District 12 Alder Julia Matthews, Madison Parks Superintendent Eric Knepp and a representative from Madison Engineering.
