Latinos Organizing for Understanding and Development (LOUD) and Omega School to host Cinco de Mayo Gallery Night

Latinos Organizing for Understanding and Development (LOUD) and Omega School will host a Cinco de Mayo Gallery Night celebrating the opening of the new LOUD Gallery at Omega School on Friday, May 5, 5-8 p.m.

LOUD is a statewide initiative focused on promoting collaboration between Latino arts and service organizations, artists, and the communities in which they operate.

The LOUD Gallery at Omega School is part of Gallery Night Madison, a long-time Madison arts tradition that showcases the city’s vibrant arts community. Featured artists will include:

Craftspersons and artists Tanay Rivera and Tomy Tepepa will be selling their artwork at the event. The new LOUD Gallery is only one of two galleries on Gallery Night located on Madison’s near South Side.

The LOUD Gallery is the only gallery featuring Black and brown visual artists, according to a press release from LOUD, including established artists like Jerry Jordan, Jerry Butler and Richie Morales, along with emerging artists of color.

LOUD Gallery is partnering with Dane Buy Local who will be bringing a busload of guests around town on Gallery Night. The event on May 5th also coincides with Cinco de Mayo, a traditional Mexican holiday.

Mojo’s Majik’s Barbeque Sauce will provide complementary food at the event. Omega School is located at 835 West Badger Road.
