Letesha Nelson, new Goodman Center CEO, to host community chats

The Goodman Community Center is introducing a new series of virtual conversations with Letesha Nelson, the new CEO/executive director of Goodman. The conversations will be called “Community Chats with Letesha Nelson” and the first of three of these will take place Tuesday, March 2, 6 p.m.

“I wish I could invite our community into our buildings and meet everyone in person,” said Nelson in a statement. “Until that’s possible, I plan to do virtual conversations to help our community members get to know me and to share out a little more about all the good work happening at the Goodman Center.”

Nelson became the CEO of Goodman Community Center earlier this year. Her first guest for “Community Chats” will be former GCC Executive Director Becky Steinhoff, who stepped down last year after over three decades of leading Goodman. The two will discuss GCC’s strong history of strengthening lives and securing futures, as well as Nelson’s vision for how the center can grow to serve even more people in the Madison community.

“This last month has been so enlightening for me, and I have so many ideas for how we can take the great foundation that Becky created, and build upon it,” Nelson said in a press release. “I can’t wait to share some of our plans for the future with our community.”

Members of the community are invited to register for the Zoom event here. Since the Zoom webinar has limited capacity, the event will also be streamed on the Goodman Center’s Facebook page where dates and times for future Community Chats will also be announced.
