As part of a nationwide movement that hosts National Night Out every August, the Madison Police Department will host events at various locations and invite the greater Madison community to come out.

National Night Out, which takes place annually on the first Tuesday in August, enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community, according to its national website, and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

The Madison Police Department is hosting events in each of its six patrol districts across the city on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 4-7 p.m. A larger celebration, featuring community partners, is taking place at Warner Park, 2920 N. Sherman Ave., during the Mallards Game.

Other National Night Outs will be held at the West District’s Meadowood Park, 4-7 p.m., and the Midtown District’s Westmorland Park, 5-8 p.m., the South District’s Penn Park, 4-7 p.m., the Central District’s Reynolds Park, 4-7 p.m. and the East District’s Galaxy Park, 5-7 p.m.
