From Wednesday, May 13 through Tuesday, May 19, you can directly help stave off hunger for families in need by dropping off non-perishable food items at any Madison-area Pick N Save location.
The food drive is a collaboration between Pick N Save, iHeartMedia and Selfless Ambition. Donated food items will be distributed through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Dane County and Food for Thought locations. The Goodman Community Center is the co-beneficiary of this collaborative food drive along with Selfless Ambition.
“The community’s role in hunger relief is more important now than ever,” Roundy’s Supermarkets Vice President of Communications James Hyland said in a statement. “Food pantries are relying on community support to meet a growing need at this critical time.”
In a statement Monday, organizers said they are especially looking for:
- Canned Fruit
- Cooking Oils
- Canned Tomatoes
- PB & J
- Cereal
- Rice
- Boxed Meals
- Pasta & Sauce
“I am so grateful for everyone at Pick N Save and iHeartMedia for having the compassion to help our community at a time when so many are looking for food stability,” Selfless Ambition founder and CEO Henry Sanders said. “This food drive is just another example of what can happen when organizations work together.”
