As part of Women’s History Month, State Sen. Lena Taylor (D-Milwaukee) and Nicole Goins, founder of Pretty Girls Are Educated, Inc., are hosting Girls’ Day at the Wisconsin State Capitol on Tuesday.
A group of students from the metro Milwaukee area will be spending the day learning about the function of state government, touring the Capitol and visiting the Supreme Court.
Milwaukee-based Pretty Girls Are Educated, Inc.’s goal is to “support young women local & worldwide while promoting the importance of education and the rewards of furthering themselves into college. Instilling essential life skills, promoting sisterhoods, and entrepreneurial skills.”
During their tour of the Capitol, students will meet with various legislators, staff and departmental liaisons to hear about the critical roles each perform in the legislature.
