Wisconsin forward Tyler Wahl scored a season-high 19 points to lead No. 21 Wisconsin over rival Iowa, 83-72, on Tuesday night at the UW Kohl Center.

It was the third straight victory for the Badgers (10-3 overall, 2-0 in the Big Ten) who used a balanced attack while shooting 58.3 percent from the floor in the second half to pull away from a halftime tie to beat the Hawkeyes (8-6 overall, 0-3 in the conference).

The Badgers went back and forth with the Hawkeyes in the first half before going into the locker rooms tied at 32. They pushed their lead to 63-55 when Wisconsin point guard Chucky Hepburn stole the ball and went coast to coast before throwing an alley-oop off the backboard to AJ Storr for a dunk that made the Kohl Center crowd go wild. The Hawkeyes never got close again as the Badgers went 20-for-26 from the line in the second half and made clutch free throws down the stretch.

Steven Crowl had a double-double (14 points, 13 rebounds) and Storr added 16 points for the Badgers who will host the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday at 1:15 p.m. Wisconsin has now won nine of its last 10 games.

Tony Perkins scored 25 points and Owen Freeman had 14 points and 13 rebounds for Iowa.

Before the game, the crowd observed a moment of silence to honor Herb Kohl, the former Milwaukee Bucks owner and United States senator who died Wednesday at the age of 88. Kohl donated $25 million to the University of Wisconsin to help fund the construction of the Kohl Center where the Badgers play their basketball and hockey home games. The Kohl Center opened in 1998.
