Channel3000logoSquareMADISON, Wis. – Madison police are investigating Madison’s second homicide of the year, police Chief Mike Koval said Monday night.

Dane County Dispatch said they got an emergency call just before 4 p.m. Monday at 27 North Butler Street.

Koval said a man in his mid-40s was found deceased by his roommate.

The roommate was out of town for the weekend, and returned Monday night to find the man dead in the 24-unit apartment complex in downtown Madison, Koval said.

Koval said investigators deemed the cause of death as homicide, but he could not release additional details on the man’s injuries. Koval also said it is not clear when the man died.

He said they are not looking for any specific suspects at this time, but they are canvassing the neighbor and the investigation is ongoing.
