Former Spokane NAACP director Rachel Dolezal, who drew the ire of … well, almost everyone in 2015 when it was revealed that she’s white, now says she “identifies as black,” but not African American.
The “whhuuh?” moment came in a Today Show interview as Dolezal, who now calls herself Nkechi Amare Diallo, is promoting her memoir, In Full Color: Finding My Place in a Black and White World.
