Alder Badri Lankella will host Aeiramique Glass, the interim independent police monitor, as he continues his series of virtual learning sessions on Wednesday, June 17, noon-1 p.m. During this session, Glass will provide a brief update on the office’s initiatives and participate in a question-and-answer segment with residents.

Glass was appointed as the interim independent police monitor in November of 2025, following the resignation of the previous monitor. The mission of the Office of the Independent Police Monitor (OIPM) is to provide independent, transparent, and community-centered oversight of the Madison Police Department, ensuring accountability, equity, and trust in public safety. This office is an official, independent agency of the City of Madison that operates separately from the police department.

“Community engagement begins with open conversations and access to information,” Lankella said in a statement. “I encourage District 7 residents and all community members to join us for this Lunch and Learn to better understand the role of the independent police monitor and how their office serves our community.”
