Public Health Madison & Dane County (PHMDC) announced today that Alliant Energy Center will once again host a mass COVID-19 testing clinic beginning Monday, Januray 10.

The clinic will be run by Wauwatosa-based Accelerated Clinical Laboratories.

In a news release Thursday, PHMDC announced the clinic will open in three phases, beginning on Monday, January 10, with a testing capacity of about 500-750 tests per day, five days a week. On Monday, January 17, capacity will increase to 1,000 tests per day and will expand to weekends as soon as possible. Hours of operation will be 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.

It will not be a drive-through style clinic. This clinic will be by appointment-only, PHMDC said, to help avoid long lines and excessive wait times.

Appointments can be made on the PHMDC website, where there is also information about other testing options available, including the South Madison clinic at 2230 S. Park Street.

“This addition will have a huge impact for folks who are anxious about getting a test right now,” Ken Van Horn, PHMDC testing director, said in a statement. “It will increase the total testing capacity in Dane County by 12.5% right away on week one, 25% on week two and 33% when weekends are added to the mix.”
