An Alton Sterling/Philando Castile Fundraiser will take place Aug. 2 at Brink Lounge that will feature The Left Field Trio and The Baldwin Bunch.
UW-Madison students and alumni are sponsoring a fundraiser for the families of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile. The focus is for providing funds to these families affected police officers shooting. The hope is that event helps raise awareness about the societal biases against people of color.
The Left Field Trio has been playing around Madison since this past fall. They play exciting original compositions that blend standard jazz sentiments with a contemporary flare. They were most recently the music behind “Franz Kafka’s The Trial.”
The Baldwin Bunch is a group lead by percussionist and composer, Andrew Baldwin. They try to blend classic jazz sounds juxtaposed to sounds inspired by gospel, funk, and neoclassical jazz.
