The City of Madison is asking for assistance from volunteers to fill and place sandbags to guard against flooding this weekend.
Much of the isthmus and near east side remain underwater or under threat of flooding. The National Guard, City staff and volunteers have already filled more than 40,000 sandbags, but more are required, according to an email from the City.
People who are available to help with sandbagging can fill out the form at: https://www.cityofmadison.com/
They will be added to an email list, and when a volunteer opportunity arises, the City will send an email or call to get a group of volunteers together to help.
