The House of Representatives reached the majority vote needed to impeach President Donald Trump on an article of impeachment charging Trump with “incitement of insurrection” for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

The resolution passed 232 to 197.

Ten House Republicans voted to impeach Donald Trump. The Republicans’ votes made this the most bipartisan presidential impeachment in history.

Trump is the only President in history to be impeached twice.

Senator Mitch McConnell said he would not use his emergency powers to bring the Senate back into session for a trial before Jan. 19.
