Isadore Knox Jr. won a seat on the Madison Common Council on Wednesday after a recount for Madison’s District 14 that was completed ended in a tie, and his name was selected at random out of a bag.
Madison City Clerk staff wrote the names of Knox and challenger Noah Lieberman on pieces of paper before pulling Knox’s name out of the bag.
The recount concluded in a tie. Both candidates’ names were placed in an elections bag and the Board of Canvass pulled Isadore Knox’s name as the winner.
