Four years ago, 17-year-old Aisha Moe had to comfort her younger brother who was told her family could be deported if Donald Trump won the presidency. Painful as it was, that galvanized her to get engaged in politics. Now 21 and a recent UW grad, she’s running to replace Fred Risser in the State Senate. She joins Real Talk with Henry Sanders to talk about growing up Muslim, taking on progessive positions, battling imposter syndrome, and much more. Today’s episode is sponsored by Park Bank with additional support from the Facebook Journalism Project.
